XBMC Ubuntu and Debian based distros
Installing XBMC on an existing Ubuntu Desktop machine is as easy as opening Terminal and execute the commands found below, one at a time. These instructions should work with other flavors of Ubuntu such as Kubuntu, Xubuntu, etc., and all Debian based distributions. No guaranty, of course. I have no way to test all Debian based distributions. Ready? Open Terminal and run the following commands one at a time.
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xbmc
After installation, browse Ubuntu’s main menu and you’ll find the XBMC menu entry. Enjoy!
